Yes, at least with the cars I can drive (demo cars), it's not very difficult to be consistent.

A long time ago, when rev configurations were allowed in the demo, I used to sleep on the blackwood rev backstraight and hit the red barriers that prevent cutting the chicane. Too bad we don't have a moon in LFS.

The logitech profiler is useless, because the tires get warmer and the same input won't do the same thing every lap.

Yes, I would also like pre-race settings (maybe in the setup) for what to do at every pit stop.
Tire replacing in the pits

I think the "Change tires" setting should be only possible to set to "yes" or "no", because in real world, your pit crew can't tell exactly, in percent, how much your tires are worn.

You will actually find out that if you always do planned pitstops, there isn't any point of this. I'll try to explain. If you pit with 50 % ware, and 60 % setting, and your tires don't get replaced, and load fuel for 50 laps, you must do another pit stop before you run out of fuel, and that will mean taking even more fuel on board, which will mean more tire wear and less speed, etc. So it will be faster to always replace your tires, and just calculate your fuel well.

Abu Dhabi would be great. Personally, I'll buy a license to drive it with the formula 1 car.
Same for Spa and Istambul park.

No. The distribution of weight to the tires changes when the body rows
Google it...
In LFS that effect has been implemented even before most of the LFS players started playing it.

Slow in, fast out refers to an late apex when speaking of slow corners. You should take the late apex if the corner is slow and there is a long straight after it, so your speed can be bigger on the straight. If the corner is fast, you are going to take the ideal line in order to carry the best speed out of the corner.

If you enter the corner too fast, but still don't crash/spin, that doesn't mean that you'll be faster, because you'll have to brake IN corner, and that will mean less stability and out of the ideal racing line.

Quote from Victor :i'd still have to be able to somehow look in all subdirs and pipe only the .php files' contents to grep. Don't know how to do that.

grep [something] $(find . -name "*.php")

Don't know how Trulli things he's right. I'm agreeing with Sutil.
Alonso's also a pretty cool guy - he just knows that it's a usual race accident (it happens) and there's nothing to bitch about.
As for the accident, both are guilty - as I said, it's just a race accident. Trulli just acts stupid.

You obviously don't know anything about physics. In LFS, it DOES change weight distribution accordingly to the position of the chassis!

I bet on Vettel for now, although things are certainly looking better for Baricello after the good performance of the Brawns in the practice.

Quote from tristancliffe :Note in David's article/blog that he mentions he was prior experience of pitlanes, which is why he's in a position to judge. You can't take the piss out of him, because he beat you to it.

Yeah, but it's ironic that he complains about that :P

Note in the article with the Abu Dhabi track (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/79773) who criticizes the pit lane - yes, its David Coulthard. Remember this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xl6QV85N7g

Maubi for the read wheel drive car (X** something) in the demo. Maubi Sport for the turbo version that was in the demo before the Formula BMW. And Maubi GTR for the GTR version that, as far as I know, requires a S2 license.
I once programmed a racing game called Raceday 3d and it had a fictional car called maubi GTR based on pontiac.

+1 for the Blackwood without the chicane. It would really require more setup compromise with the Formula BMW. I would also like some other configurations of Blackwood. Maybe a tilke-style loop/chicane in the middle of the straight. Just kidding, but a new configuration would be really nice.

Yes, the tire patch takes a lot of time, but Scawen is working on other things, too. I just wanted to say that it's not a impossible modification.
I'm not quite familiar with the LFS GFX engine, I know only that it uses DirectX 8 and draws objects that are around a certain path. I also think it doesn't have dynamic shadows except on cars. It could be changed to only draw objects that are in the field of view.

I don't think modifying the GFX engine should be so serious modification, considering the new tyre physics may be almost the same amount of work.

Yeah, you overtook me. I was just going to write this about the md5 sum. It's a very good idea, it doesn't takes only 0.04 seconds.

Edit: Shadowww, other methods will be hackable with Wireshark, too. If I'm not mistaken, some way of encrypting the stuff send through network should be implemented, but that will be difficult.

Nope. Jenson didn't needed overtakes in the first part of the season because he was starting from the front rows, and in the second part of the season he was over-cautious. But in the Interlagos race, he really overtook with balls, and in the other part of the season, he showed amazing race pace.

Sorry, but Vettel was very inconsistent, so was Rubens. I think Button was extremely careful in the second part of the season and he could do more if someone was very close to him by points, so even if he wasn't lucky he would still win the title.
I think BrawnGP weren't much worse compared to other teams in the second part of the season, but the drivers were the problem. As I said, Jenson could have pushed harder, while Rubens still suffered the same problem as in the first part of the season .
It's very interesting to see what will Button do in Abu Dhabi. I hope he wins it to shut the critic's mouths. He /Jenson/ showed incredible potential and quality in the first part of the season, not only because of the car. I bet that if Jenson and Rubens were in Red Bull /with their race engineers/, and Vettel and Webber in BrawnGP, Button would probably win the season, because Vettel and Webber were very bad in the first part of the season when BrawnGP had most potential.
